The Double Triple Drill

1 min read

Here's a great drill that will help you improve your shooting skills and conserve ammo! The Double Triple Drill is based on a drill by expert trainer, Ken Hackathorn, and it can be done at the range or at home during a dry fire session. You can shoot this drill from the holster or at low ready and you can use a shot timer or shoot it untimed.

From the holster or low ready:

String 1: Fire one shot in this order: 1-2-3-4-5-6

String 2: Fire one shot in this order: 6-5-4-3-2-1

String 3: Fire one shot on 2, then 1 and 3 (any order), then fire one shot on 5, then 4 and 6 (any order).

You can shoot this drill using our free Gone Shootin' Target (download it here) or you can use six 3x5 index cards placed vertically.

And don't forget - if you're dry firing, make sure to triple check your gun to make sure it's unloaded and follow all the dry fire safety protocols!
