Skylar is a faux leather crossbody, featuring contrasting stitching, with braided tabs and crossbody strap! This cute bag is lockable, too!
Features:
YKK Locking Gun Concealment:
Dimensions:
Purse: 11" L x 8.5" H x 3.5" D
Concealment pocket: 9.5" L x 6.5"H
All purses on the site will have dimensions for the gun compartment. Always allow at least a half inch of clearance at the zipper.
Example: Gun compartment is 8.5” W x 7” H.
If your gun is less than 8" long (end to end) and less than 6.5" tall, it should fit.
The nylon/elastic purse holsters that most manufacturers include with the bags are a place to start, but they will not be a good fit for many guns.
Your gun won't "snap in" - these holsters have zero retention. If you tip the holster upside down, the gun will slip out. We strongly recommend getting a kydex purse holster that's molded for your specific gun model, with snap-in retention.
You'll get several loose adhesive velcro sheets with it, so you can attach it however you prefer inside your bag (or any surface).
I have had a lot of Gun purses and this one is made well. It is the perfect size and is very nice quality. I am 70 and needed a smaller but organized purse this one is great.
After getting use to the purses I'm liking them now that I've figured out what works best for me. When in a parking lot or Ramp I unzip the conceal carry part of the purse halfway so I can get my strong hand on the grip of my gun, I put my weak hand over that and it doesn't look out of place. I have two of goddess's purses the Skyler in Black and the Cross body Organizer in stressed buffalo. Sorry I'm late Karen but I do carry my S&W J frame 38 in mine.
I'm a 64 year old woman and use to carrying with my shoulder holster. I just received my Skyler cross body today. First off I'm left handed. My main carry gun is an M&P compact 40, I have found that if I carry the purse with the gun on the out side instead of next to my body it seems to workout better. My 40 is a bit heavy for the conceal compartment and getting it out isn't quick. At this point I can see a few draw backs, if you are left handed and wear a wedding ring my center stone gets caught a lot but turning it with the gun to the outside it was a bit better. I must say I have never been much of a purse type lady and don't carry a lot of other stuff in it. My S&W J frame works well in the conceal compartment but to get the gun out with one hand having the weight of my 40 in the purse makes it just right. I haven't given up on it but just wanted to give a heads up. Oh and don't go to the nail salon and spent a bunch on your nails they will take a betting as you practice drawing your gun on the zipper. I'm going to keep trying to use it. Will write another review when I know for sure if it's what I was hoping it would be.
