If you love the gorgeous sheen of anodized parts but just can't get them for your gun model, now there's an easy way to do it yourself!
DuraCoat's brand new line is called DuraDize - it creates the look of anodized metal and can be applied on any metal, plastic or wood parts. Best of all, it comes in an easy-to-apply spray can. The formula provides protection against rust and corrosion.
Colors: Violet, Scarlet, Jade, Chartreuse, Wine, Ginger, Sapphire - Click on images to enlarge & view each color
Kit Includes: 12oz aerosol can of DuraDize with direction-adjustable nozzle (enough for 2-4 entire handguns or 1-2 entire long guns), 12oz aerosol can of required base coat DuraCoat Stainless Steel, 6oz TruStrip cleaner/degreaser, scrubbing pad, 1 additional nozzle for spray volume control
Note About Stainless Steel Base Coat: This is required in order for the DuraDize color to work. A 12oz Can of the DuraCoat Stainless Steel is included in the kit. We do give you the option to remove this item from your order, but this should only be done if you will be ordering multiple color kits for small parts, where the 12oz can from one kit will be sufficient. If you use your color kit without the stainless base, it will not work!
Optional: 12oz DuraCoat Clear Coat - Clear Coat for DuraDize is not required. It is your preference whether to clear coat. DuraDize Satin does look best when a coat of Satin Clear is applied. DuraDize Gloss doesn’t change much with a coat of Gloss Clear. The clear coat is available separately and can be purchased as a stand-alone product at any time.
How it works:
The aerosol cans contain both the paint color and the hardener. No measuring or mixing! Just release the hardener & shake! No baking, no preheating necessary. Lasts for up to 4 weeks after activation.
Will any other equipment be required?
No! The kit contains all you need. We also include an extra nozzle that gives the additional option of increasing or decreasing the volume of material that comes out of the can. This is helpful when coating small parts to avoid a lot of wasteful overspray.
How far will the paint go?
A 12 oz can is sufficient for 1 - 2 entire long guns or 2 - 4 entire handguns.
How long does it take to cure?
DuraDized items can be reassembled and used within a day or so, but avoid harsh cleaners, rough handling, and holstering for 3-4 weeks until the full cure is reached.
Made a mistake?
Not a problem! As long as you haven't allowed the color to cure, it's easy to start over! If you catch it right away, just use the TruStrip to wash the paint away. If it dries too much, you would need to wait a few hours at least, then just sand down & apply a new coat.
