SURVIVAL STRAP STORIES

LIFEGUARD USES SURVIVAL STRAP IN RESCUE

Hey guys, This past weekend I had the opportunity to use my Survival Strap, which doubles as my medical alert bracelet as I am deathly allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts. I lifeguard at a beach in Rhode Island, Misquamicut Beach, and was faced with a spinal rescue recovery. Now normally a spinal injury is scary enough in itself but when rescuing a large, overweight individual in high seas, it becomes a little scarier. As I started to secure the straps around the victim, I realized the torso strap was going to come up very short. Without hesitation, I immediately took my survival strap, unwound it and slid the dog tag to one end as a clamp and tied the other end securely to the other strap. Not only did this work perfectly, I also saved the gentleman from any paralysis that may have stemmed from the accident. Anyhow, thank you for making this incredible product and allowing me to pass it on to one of my drowning victims to save his life. Truly a remarkable product that I cannot commend enough – Ryan

SNIPER USES SURVIVAL STRAPS FOR TOURNIQUET

I had 2 of your straps, and because I had 2... I'm still alive. I cannot give you details or too many specifics, but this is what I can tell you...

I was in Iraq and given the responsibility of providing cover for my unit on a raid. As a sniper, I chose a building that was already destroyed and hid within the rubble. I had taken out a couple insurgents before a lucky mortar shot exploded within range of my position. The blast was near enough to wound me. I was also somewhat exposed as my cover was shaken down.

While in Iraq, I wore one of your straps on each wrist (they were all black and the WIDE ones with the stainless steel clamp). I unraveled the first one, tying it on my leg above the worst wound to make a tourniquet. It stopped the bleeding. The second, I cut in half and was able to tie up some large pieces of debris to help create more cover. From this position I continued to provide covering fire for my troops as the mission was successful. We lost no one and the injuries were minimal. I was able to move on my own to rejoin my unit.

It's safe to say I might not have made it out without your straps... either by the possibility of bleeding to death or further wounds due to exposure to the enemy. In any case... I love you guys! I'm out now and home safe...I'll be strapped when they bury me...It's in the will!!! Cheers my friends!

SURVIVAL STRAPS HELP A SKIER WITH A BROKEN LEG

My dad used to say "preparation is what separates the men from the boys", so for my 17th birthday he got me a survival strap. However, when I first saw it, I laughed inside of me thinking "when will I ever need this"? Oh the irony in that statement. This winter, a friend and I decided to go cross country skiing in the Rocky Mountains (in Alberta, Canada) and I decided to bring my survival strap along for kicks and giggles, thinking "it looks cool, might as well". Anyways, one late afternoon, me and my friend are skiing, and it started getting dark, while that didn't bother me, my friend's vision isn't very good. We are in the forest going at a rapid pace so that we can make it to his cabin before its completely dark. I was in the lead, and I saw a 15 foot drop up ahead so i turn to miss it, my friend however didn't see it. He goes flying over the edge and hits the bottom. His right leg was broken. It's was below -25.C by this time and he needed to get home pronto. So we decided to make him a splint by using one of his damaged ski's that was split in a few pieces from the fall plus my hoodie as padding, and we tied it all together to form the splint with half of the survival strap's rope. We cut off the other half to use as a rope so that I could pull him behind me (him sitting partially on his one ski, another on an extra windbreaker jacket we brought along. So I towed him about two miles to the closest road, borrowed a phone from a guy in a car that was passing by and was able to call the paramedics. Thanks to the Survival Strand my dad bought me, my friend ended up only having mild hypothermia and a broken leg. Thank you!

SURVIVAL STRAPS SAVE A WOMAN FROM DROWNING

A buddy and I were canoeing down a fork of the White River in southern MO. It's a popular float trip for college kids and families. It was just gonna be a guys weekend...low key. It was just after lunch and we were coming to a part in the river that was pretty fast moving, and there was a pretty big tree that had fallen into the center of the river. While the river wasn't super deep at this point, it was fast moving and the current around the tree was challenging to get our canoe around. What made it even crazier is that this was right after a bend in the river, so you really didn't see it until you were right on top of it. So my friend and I made it around the tree, but it wasn't easy. I don't know why, but something made us stop by the shore and take a break. Folks were getting around it OK, but there was a woman on an inner tube that didn't seem to be moving out of the way and she got stuck under one of the bigger tree branches, submerged in the river and couldn't get untangled... Honestly, I have no idea what happened next, other than I remember breaking the buckle on my Survival Strap, handing one end to by buddy and told him to hang on, jumped into the river and got her untangled from the branches that were holding her under the water. My buddy then helped pull me in with the paracord that came from the Survival Strap.

SURVIVAL STRAP SAVES FIREFIGHTER’S BOOT

My name is Nick and I work for San Diego County Fair. I have owned my Survival Strap for almost a year now and I got my chance to use it last week on a wildland fire. I was working the fire line on about a 40 acre fire when my boot lace burned through and broke. I usually carry and extra pair with my gear but I guess I forgot to replace it from the last time they broke. I quickly deployed my Survival Strap and cut a section off to make into a boot lace. It worked great! I wear the regular bracelet and will probably wear it forever. It exceeded all my expectations! Thank you!

SURVIVAL STRAPS USED TO TIE DOWN A GRILL TO A CAR

Having served in the Marine Corps for almost 7 years (99 - 05) I would have really liked to have known about your product. Sadly, I no longer have "emergency" situations in which I can gainfully employ your wonderful product. Having said that, over the past weekend I was able to use my Wide Survival Bracelet with the D ring. Now keep in mind I am a father of 4 and little pleasures I get out of life now are a little different than what used to keep me happy. I had to use the SurvivalStrap to tie down my 200 lbs. brand new grill to the top of my minivan. The twine provided simply was not safe in my opinion. I did direct 2 employees to your website as they admired the Survival Bracelet and in their words said "that is a bad ass bracelet". Having safely made it home I realized my wrist felt slightly naked and I wondered if I qualify for a replacement. Wither way, I will buy another one if need be.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I thoroughly enjoy your product and will recommend them to anyone. By the way, all of my children , 10, 5, 3, and 1 year olds will be getting them for their birthdays this year.

Thanks again and Semper Fi

SURVIVAL STRAPS SAVE A WEDDING

This past weekend I was in one of my best friends wedding. As you know it is up to the groomsmen to tie the cans to the back of the newlyweds vehicle. Getting ahold of some cans was no problem at all but no one seemed to have any string to attach them to. After looking around for a while with no string to show for it I decided that I had my SurvivalStrap on and that it was made up of 15 feet or so of cord. I thought it would be plenty enough to get the job done. Thand SurvivalStraps for a great product! I will be ordering another one so that I am always ready to tackle any situation, emergency or not!l

SURVIVAL STRAPS USED IN IRAQ

My name is MA2 Ellis, Matthew and I am currently deployed as an explosive dog handler in southern Iraq. Last week, I was on a mission conducting route clearance when a buckle on my body armor blew out. The buckle was on the shoulder and all that was holding the armor on my body was the Velcro. I immediately called a halt to the patrol and remounted back into my MRAP and tried figuring out a way to rig it back together. After a few minutes brain storming it dawned on me that I had my survival strap bracelet in my go bag that my brother got me for my birthday. I usually wear it but could not on this mission because of certain regulations. I unwound it and threaded it through the buckle and tied it off with a square knot. Thank god I had that with me because I was able to continue my mission with all of my gear in order.

Much Thanks!!!!

MA2 Ellis

SURVIVAL STRAPS HELP A RUNNER FINISH A RACE

I am a long distance runner turned triathlete. I was training for an Ironman distance triathlon. This includes a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 marathon to top it all off. During one of my long runs, I had a problem with my shoe lace. I took off my bracelet to use the paracore, and my lace problem was a memory! I hated to waste my bracelet, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! This is no big hairy story, however, the bracelet got me through an important run. Much Thanks!!! I had only had my bracelet 1 week, and I plan on buying another. I know you will replace it, but I am really thankful and will be buying a new one. That's just me!!!

Thanks again!
