Pretty cool! The backstrap is painted and coated, which results in a texture similar to grip tape at first.  With use, the coating will become smoother, but will retain it's Glow-in-the-Dark quality.  With the lights on, the backstrap looks white.

Available in two finishes: a sparkly, glitter coating, or a non-glitter, textured-only coating.

Backstraps are available for full-size and compact M&P's that have removable backstraps.

** You are buying a brand new backstrap, you do not need to send in your own backstrap.

Backstraps should be removed prior to cleaning with solvents and oils.  Some minimal "shedding" is normal at first, but will diminish. Durability will depend on the amount of use and abuse.
