  1. A challenge to install

Posted by Riverkilt on 1st Jan 2013

Depite the various videos on line getting the old release out and putting the new one in is a HUGE challenge. Its the spring that holds it. Difficult to find a tool to release it. Difficult to find a tool to hold the spring out of the way to install it (Glock 26 gen 4). After I got it in found a pick set at WalMart that may have helped. Tried dental pic and that didn't work. Had to use a flat blade screwdriver - a crude solution.

Once in the release was too tight. No clue if the release was sized too big or the Glock opening too small. It was just too tight. Push the mag release in and it worked fine. It just wouldn't return to position on its own. Had to push it in on the left side to get it to hold the new magazine.

Wound up just working it back and forth and back and forth about 500 times (really - 500 times) and adding penetrating lubricant and greasing the parts I could reach. That finally got it working on its own. Still don't know why it hung up.

I really do like the look of the red mag release on the black Glock. Sorta looks like the cover of the new Glock book - only the mag release instead of the slide release.

  2. Gave my gun the perfect look and the perfect mag release!

I just put it on today. It was really really good. Although it was quite challenging to remove the pin in place, after that it was all complete happiness for me!

The material is shiny in finish and gave my gun a fashion statement! :) Now its easy for me to press the release without much effort and its looking very girly and cute now!
